The Cairngorms

Located in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, the Cairngorms is the UK largest National Park at over 1,700 square miles and contains 4 out of 5 of the UK highest peaks.

It’s name whilst difficult to directly translate roughly means “The Blue Hills” due to the blue hue caused by the humidity that can often been seen whilst looking deep in to the mountains.

It’s one of the last true bastions of wilderness in the UK a true place of solitude and an area that has had a hold on me since I first visited.
